Information You Submit
A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that supplies those results. Our servers do not retain a copy of that query. When you contact us, we use the details in your message only to answer it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our hosting keeps ordinary server logs: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We look at this in aggregate to keep the site healthy and to see which pages readers use. Cookies or similar technologies may support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Automatic data supports site operation, problem diagnosis, audience totals, and page improvements. We neither sell a visitor list nor create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
Safeguards and Retention
Connections are encrypted, and logs remain only as long as needed for the purposes stated above. Because there are no visitor accounts, the site holds no user password or account profile.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held by a website. Washington's My Health My Data Act, Chapter 19.373 RCW, applies to consumer health data rather than creating a general public-record deletion right. Since we retain little data, a request generally means checking contact messages and server logs. Use the Contact page. Records held by a Washington agency, county, or city remain under that custodian's control.
Updates to This Policy
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
